The Hahnmühle is located in the wild-beautiful valley of the Alsenz river, a tributary to the Nahe river, south of Bad Kreuznach. Built in the medieval times as a Mill, it is now used for over 100 years as a wine estate by the Linxweiler family. Peter and Martina Linxweiler took charge of the Hahnmühle in 1986 and never looked back.

Their philosophy of wine making is simple and produces great results: The estate Hahnmühle is a fully certified and registered wine producer for ecological wines. Nature is left at its best. This shows in the vineyards, but it also means quality production of wine: focussing on selected reduction during growth, handpicked grapes, gentle development of the wines in oak wood barrels and barrique.

The vineyards are of the best sunny steep hillsides, the sites carry names like Cöllner Rosenberg, Alsenzer Elkersberg, Oberndorfer Beutelstein or Steckweiler Mittelberg. Soil is decomposed sandstone and slate, which provides the basis for wines full of character and terroir.

Following their philosophy, they are not producing wines which follow the latest trend and marketing dictatorship, their wines taste like the beautiful-wild Alsenz valley, the soil they grow on and only influenced by the climate of the seasons.

Wines of highest quality and benchmarked continuously against their own philosophy.

The Hahnmühle offers great hospitality to their visitors with an annual introduction of their new wines, tastings in combination with good food and cultural events. The Nahe region is an ideal area for walking, cycling and horse riding activities.
