The business of Fuerst Loewenstein is led since 2003 by Carl Friedrich Erbprinz zu Loewenstein. The internationally acclaimed wine guide Gault Millau chose him as Estate Manager of the year 2004. Fuerst Loewenstein is a member of the VDP, an association of some 200 top Estates in Germany.
Terroir stamps the character of great wines. It is the sum of all the excellent characteristics of site, soil, selection of grape variety, climate and the skill of the wine maker. The Estate in Franken is well known for wines with this attribute, dry, authentic, from one of the world famous sites - Homburger Kallmuth - and other top sites in the region of Franken.
Fuerst Loewenstein is also a member of TRIAS, this is a group of five friends in Franken, who all belong to the VDP, and who all grow vines in the regions three typical soil types (red sandstone, shell limestone, gypsum marl) that date from the Trias Period some 225 million years ago. Five estates with one philosophy: to produce premium quality wines that truly reflect their terroir! Hotels to stay: |
