A medium to steep-sloping hill, this locality is ideally situated on the south side of the hill and has been famed for years for its outstanding Rieslings. The stony, poor soil restricts the yields in a natural way. Geologically speaking, the soil is majority composed of sandstone and sandstone gravels intermingled here and there with granite. This place name generally yields wines with a strongly marked minerality, with degrees of acidity usually above average. This place name is ideal for making great dry wines suitable for a longer ageing.
