Weingut Dr. Wehrheim
	For many years the estate Dr. Wehrheim belongs to the most respected wine producers, not only in the Pfalz region but it has a great reputation nationally and internationally. Hospitality and an inviting ambience is a significant part of this family business, currently 3 generations are actively working in the estate. Dr. Wehrheim produces on 12,5 hectare predominantly Riesling, Weissburgunder and Chardonnay, but is also famous for his red wines, grape varieties Spaetburgunder and Sankt Laurent. The wines are classic dry wines of great character, influenced by the sites, climatic conditions and the vinification process. Traditional values and modern technology are contributing equally to the success of this estate. White wines are produced according to the type of the wine, protecting the aroma, in stainless steel tanks or in wooden barrels. This secures fine aroma, fruity acidity and long storage times. With red wines, aromas of wood compliment the natural aroma of the wine. Pending on the type of wine, wooden barrels are used or new, small oak barrique barrels. The sites belonging to the estate include Kastanienbusch, Rotliegendes and Mandelberg. Soil types are sandstone, porphyry, limestone-rich marl, sandy clay and shell limestone. The estate Dr. Wehrheim has over the years won many prizes and awards for its tireless work. This particular area of the region Pfalz - Suedpfalz - is one of the hottest parts of Germany in summertime. It is bordered in the south by the famous French Alsace region, in the east by the river Rhein and in the west by the Pfalz Mountains, offering great opportunities for walking and riding, amongst many other things to enjoy beside tasting the magnificent wines of the estate Dr. Wehrheim. The estate offers family guest accommodation and can be used as a base to exploit the many leisure activities or for city visits to Heidelberg, Strassburg or Karlsruhe.
