Herdade Dos Lagos
	From Ship Captain to wine maker. Horst Zeppenfeld aquired the Estate Herdade Dos Lagos some 30 years ago and transformed it into one of the leading wineries in the Alentejo region. The philosophy is to ceate and maintain an exclusive range of high quality product. Grape varieties include mainly Shiraz, Aragonez and Alicante Bouschet. The estate relies on the expertise of renowned wine makers Antonio Saramargo (Portuguese winemaker of the year) and Dorina Lindemann. Two different and qualified opinions complement one another and guarantee the optimum quality. The Mediterranean climate and the lime stone soil combine with traditional and modern cultivation and vinification to achieve wines of expressive character and quality. The estate is located in the village of Vale de Açorin, half way between the towns of Beja and Mértola, in the deep south of the Alentejo and on the edge of the Park Natural do Vale do Guadiana.
